1982 2A state champion for Newberry high school in Newberry FL. Still hold high school records in the mile  -  4:20.1 and  2 mile - 9:43.5(set as a junior at state meet In 1982) and 3 mile - 14:50(set as a senior at district championships in 1983). I was coached by hall of fame Coach Ron Norris  in high school.  I had a full athletic scholarship to Santa Fe College in 1983 in Gainesville  FL where I was coached by and trained with Jamaican Olympian Byron Dyce. I completed at the National championships as a freshman where we were favored to win the national title.
